Most writers, myself included, become so driven to make their project a masterpiece that anything short of perfection shouldn't even be written down. So all of these great stories-in-progress and ideas are left to collect dust while we wait for inspiration to come back to us.
My friends, let me be clear, it is RARE for the inspiration to defeat writer's block to just come back. Instead, many writers are now turning to the internet, frantically searching for that one trick that will get them to overcome the block.
There are hundreds of ways that people have come up with over the years to surpass their own block, but they all have one thing in common, and is the only real way to beat writer's block. That one way, is by writing. It doesn't matter if it's prompts, pictures, videos, journals, blogs, etc. The only thing that beats writer's block is writing. THAT
So what are you waiting for? Go write. Find something that interests you, piques your curiosity, or moves you emotionally in any way and write about it. Write about it until you can look at your project, whatever that may be, and coax the words you need to write out of yourself. Defeating writer's block is one of the most rewarding experiences for a writer; not only because they were able to use their talent again, but because (usually) those first words back on the page are some of the best we can write.
