Risk means to expose to danger. It is often defined in retrospect when we can see whether the risk paid off or not. If something was worth the risk then you succeeded, if not then you failed. The time of indecision and uncertainty before a risk is taken is filled with fear; fear of failure, and fear of success. What will happen if you fail? What will happen if you succeed? Often times, we let these fears paralyze us into not taking the risk; allowing your dream to remain a dream. Don't get me wrong, dreams are great, but achieving them, or coming closer to achieving them, is even better. The world will not be conquered by dreamers, it will be conquered by dreamers who did something about their dreams.
Two brothers dreamed of flight, we know them as the Wright brothers.
A man dreamed of electricity as a tool for man, we know him as Thomas Edison.
Countless times throughout history we have seen men and women follow their dreams, through countless hardships and failures, until they got it right. Sometimes history remembers these people so well they become famous, sometimes not so famous. History always remembers though, it always remembers those who dream and then do something about it.
So, will history remember you? Will it remember me? Only time will tell for sure, but you will only have that chance if you stop being afraid and take the risk. Take it as many times as it takes until you get it right, until your dream is a reality.
The real question is, what is your dream?
I'd love to know, let's talk about it. Head on over to my contact page and I'll see you there.
